Spirit $9 Fare Club - $9 Fare Spirit Airlines

Spirit airlines is one of choices you can pick for the amex incidental airline charge. but it's not clear to me when you buy a ticket with baggage, is that one fee coded as air fare or two fees so the credit will auto apply?

Fort Lauderdale-based Spirit Airlines is the largest privately held airline in the United States, and the leading discount carrier to the Caribbean. Spirit serves 26 markets in the United States, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean with 125 daily flights.

Check-in times: Generally three hours prior to departure at the ticket counter. Spirit Airlines customers wanting to check baggage are required to do so at the counter at least 30 minutes before departure (60 minutes for international flights and 45 minutes for Las Vegas).

If you got your boarding pass online and printed it yourself -- and you are not checking bags --you may proceed directly to the gate.

Baggage allowance: Spirit Airlines allows one carry-on bag, and each ticketed customer is allowed to check two pieces of luggage. International travelers are allowed to check two pieces of luggage. There is a extra fee charged for any additional, oversized, or overweight luggage. Spirit Airlines does not accept excess, oversized, or overweight baggage for travel to and from the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, or Jamaica.

Customers are limited to two checked bags per person, which is strictly enforced. Checked bags must not exceed maximum linear dimensions (length + width + height) of 62 inches for the first piece and 55 inches for the second piece. Checked bags must not exceed 70 pounds per piece. Carry-on baggage must not exceed 40 pounds and linear dimensions of 45 inches.

Change to passenger name or flight: Spirit Airlines offers two types of fares: non-refundable and refundable. If you cannot make your flight, call the Spirit Airlines reservation center as soon as possible prior to your flight's scheduled departure time. By doing so, you avoid the risk of forfeiting the value of your reservation.

Changes or cancellations may be made up to three hours prior to departure for $40 per customer, plus any difference in airfare for the alternate requested dates(s) or flight(s). Changes are not permitted within three hours of scheduled departure.

Child fares: Spirit permits infants to fly free on the lap of an adult. If you are booking flights online and wish to carry an infant or child on your lap, you will need to call Spirit Airlines reservations.

Pet travel: Spirit permits only domestic animals such as dogs, cats, and small birds, subject to space availability. Call Spirit Airlines reservations to book your reservation when traveling with a pet. Pets cannot be transported in the cargo compartment on flights to San Juan, Puerto Rico or on flights operated on Airbus 321 aircraft.

Live animals, whether carried in the cabin or checked as baggage (in a pressurized compartment in the belly of the aircraft) are charged a $50 fee per container, each way. Pets cannot be transported either in the cabin or in the cargo compartment on international flights to the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, or Mexico. See Spirit Airlines' travel policies.

Pre-assigned seating: Spirit Airlines passengers may select seats within 90 days and up to one hour prior to scheduled departure for each flight. You can change your seat assignment using online check-in up to one hour prior to scheduled departure for each flight.

Legroom: Seat pitch: 31-33” in economy; 36” in Spirit Plus.

In-flight service: snacks are available for purchase on most Spirit flights, payable only by credit card. Products include muffins, candy, and chips. Complimentary beverages such as sodas, juices, water, coffee, and tea are available. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.

Air miles: Spirit Business Associates program for business customers who travel frequently.
